Open the platform overview

Open Monitor → AI Referrals in the newer menu, or Prompts → AI Referrals in the older menu. Pick your project and 7, 30, or 90 days. This page adds up qualified appearances across tracked answers.

  1. 1Read Count to see how many qualified appearances were recorded for a platform.
  2. 2Read cited and mention-only separately; they describe different kinds of evidence.
  3. 3Compare Change with the previous window, then check the Updated time.

Three things that sound similar

Cited means a qualifying brand-associated citation was captured. Mention-only means the brand was meaningfully surfaced without a qualifying citation. Merely repeating a brand name already in the question may not qualify.

Cited appearance, mention-only appearance, and a separate website visit.

  1. 1Example: the answer includes a link to your product page → a cited appearance.
  2. 2Example: the answer meaningfully recommends your brand but has no captured qualifying link → mention-only.
  3. 3A person clicking a link and visiting your site is a separate event. This page does not measure that event.

What to do with the result

Use the platform table to choose where to investigate. Then open related prompts to review their answers and sources. One platform dropping is a reason to check the evidence, not proof that your website was penalized.

  1. 1Keep the project and time range fixed while toggling platform lines.
  2. 2Use Refresh to reload saved data; use an eligible scan action to ask models again.
  3. 3Use your website analytics separately if you need actual visits or conversions.

If the page says credits are insufficient, missing new data must not be treated as a confirmed fall to zero.
